Zoning Appeal Application
Overview
This document is a Zoning Appeal Application form for the City of Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is used to request action before the City of Altoona Zoning Hearing Board regarding zoning code issues.
Submission Requirements
To submit a valid application, the following steps and materials are required:
- Copies: Nine (9) copies of the completed form must be submitted.
- Narrative: A written explanation is required detailing the points upon which the appeal is based.
- Special Exceptions: The narrative must explain how the project meets each condition listed in the zoning district's regulations.
- Variances: The narrative must explain how the project meets the requirements of Section 910. 2 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.
- Supporting Materials: Drawings, photographs, and other supporting materials must be attached.
- Fees: All required fees must be paid before a hearing will be scheduled.
Application Sections
The form requires the following information to be filled out:
- Property Details: Location, purpose of appeal, description of premises, use of premises, and off-street parking details.
- Property Owner Information: Name, address, phone, and email.
- Applicant Information: Name, address, phone, and email (can be the same as the owner).
- Design Professional Information: Name, address, phone, and email.
- Signature: The applicant must sign and date the form.

- Variance: $500. 00
- Special Exception: $500. 00
- Appeal Determination: $500. 00
- Appeal Violation Notice: $500. 00

Meeting Schedule
The Zoning Hearing Board generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month. Submittal deadlines should be confirmed with the Planning & Development Manager.
