"Project: Welcome Home" Registration Form

Program Overview

The County of Blair, in partnership with the Blair County Veteran’s Affairs Office and the Recorder of Deeds, has launched a new initiative called "Project: Welcome Home. " This program is designed to support returning veterans by encouraging them to record their Military Discharge Form (DD 214) for safekeeping and by connecting them with local businesses offering discounts.

Program Objectives

The initiative aims to:

• Welcome veterans home and thank them for their service.
• Encourage veterans to record their DD 214 forms with the Blair County Recorder of Deeds Office.
• Promote local businesses that participate in the program and support the Blair County Chamber’s "Buy Here Live Here" campaign.

How It Works

• Eligibility: Veterans must present a Veteran Photo ID (obtained at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Driver’s Licensing Center with proof of recorded DD 214) to qualify for discounts.
• Discounts: Individual merchants determine the discount amount, which may be a percentage of the sale or a specific dollar amount. Businesses can set their own restrictions.
• Participation: A list of participating businesses will be available on the County of Blair website at www. blaircounty. org.

Business Registration

Local businesses are invited to register for the program by completing the attached registration form. The form requires:

• Business Name, Address, Website, Hours, Email, and Phone Number.
• Contact Name(s).
• Details on the Percentage/Amount/Type of Discount offered.
• Signature and Print Name of an authorized representative.

• Business names will remain on the list and County website unless a written request is sent to remove them.
