The Borough of Williamsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, has enacted Ordinance No. 402 to regulate when residents and businesses may place waste for collection. The ordinance establishes specific time windows for placing trash curbside and outlines the financial penalties for violations.

Key Regulations

  • Standard Collection: Municipal waste, refuse, and recyclables must be placed at the edge of the cartway or a designated collection area no earlier than 11:00 a. m. on the day before the scheduled collection day.
  • Special Collections: For extra, special, or oversized waste on a date other than the normal schedule, items may be placed out no earlier than 11:00 a. m. on the day before that specific collection date.

Penalties

Violations of this ordinance result in fines upon conviction, with amounts increasing for repeat offenses within a twelve-month period:

  • First Offense: A fine between $25. 00 and $50. 00.
  • Second Offense: A fine between $50. 00 and $100. 00.
  • Third or Subsequent Offense: A fine between $100. 00 and $300. 00.

Effective Date

This ordinance took effect immediately upon its adoption on May 3, 2021.
