Personnel Decisions: Troy Jarrett
The council held an executive session to discuss the hiring of Troy Jarrett, a candidate for the police department who currently works in the Sheriff’s Department and is attending the police academy.
The council unanimously approved the following motions regarding Mr. Jarrett:
- Immediate Part-Time Hire: Approved hiring Troy Jarrett as a Part-Time Officer effective immediately at a rate of $25. 00 per hour.
- Letter of Intent: Issued a Letter of Intent to hire him as a full-time police officer.
- Full-Time Offer: Approved hiring him as a Full-Time Police Officer upon completion of the academy and passing the MPOETC test.
- Compensation: $30. 00 per hour plus a bi-weekly stipend of $300. 00 for the first year (26 pays) to help reimburse academy costs.
- Vehicle: Approved for him to use a Take Home Car after completing his 90-day probation.
Mr. Jarrett accepted the offer. He currently lives in Duncansville and attends evening classes at the police academy in Johnstown from September 30, 2024, to October 1, 2025.
