Overview
This document outlines emergency custody procedures enacted by the 24th Judicial District (Blair County) in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The order was issued on March 19, 2020, pursuant to a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Order from March 18, 2020.
Key Directives
Custody Schedule Interpretation
- Policy: Normal custody schedules must be followed consistent with the regular school schedule as outlined by respective school districts at the beginning of the school year.
- School Shutdowns: The normal custody schedules will not be disrupted by the current shutdown of schools related to Coronavirus.
- Purpose: This action is taken to provide consistency for the parties and avoid numerous petitions filed with the Court requiring individuals to appear in court for hearings.
Matters Continued
- Status: All matters in custody have been continued until at least April 3, 2020.
- Exception: Emergency petitions for child custody are not included in this continuation.
