Election Overview

Voting Instructions

Voters are instructed to use a medium point black or blue pen. Ballots are scanned by optical scanners, and other writing instruments may not be readable.

Key Rules:

• Marking: Blacken the oval completely to the left of a candidate's name.
• Write-in: To vote for someone not listed, blacken the oval to the left of the blank line and write their name in the space provided.
• Absentee Warning: If you receive an absentee/mail-in ballot, you cannot vote at your polling place on election day unless you surrender the voted ballot to the judge of elections to be voided. Otherwise, you must vote a provisional ballot if you cannot return the absentee ballot by the deadline.
• Mistakes: If a mistake is made, ask for a new ballot.
