Upset Sale List Publication and Fees
The 2026 Upset Sale List will be published in the Altoona Mirror, The Tyrone Daily Herald, and the Blair County Legal Bulletin around August 13, 2026. It will also be available on the Blairco. org website under the "Tax Claim - Property List" tab.
- A fee of $150. 00 will be applied to all properties listed in the September Tax Sale Ad.
Sale Notice and Notification Fees
A final Sale Notice will be mailed out at least 10 days prior to the Upset Sale.
- A fee of $5. 00 will be assessed for each Sale Mailer.
- The total notification cost varies per property based on the number of individuals who must be notified.
Delivery Issues and Additional Costs
If an individual does not sign for their notice, an additional address search will be conducted to ensure delivery. This process results in additional Sale Mailer fees charged to the property owner.
Petition for Waiver of Personal Service
A "Petition to Waive Personal Service" will be filed for all owner-occupied properties where personal service of the notice has failed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Residents are urged to sign for any certified mail sent from the Tax Claim Bureau. Failing to sign may result in additional costs and fees due to re-delivery attempts or address searches.
