Tyrone Borough Council Minutes of Re-Organization Meeting
Meeting Overview
The Tyrone Borough Council held its re-organization meeting on January 5, 2026, at 6:45 PM. The meeting took place at the Tyrone Borough Municipal Building, located at 1100 Logan Avenue, Tyrone, PA.
Swearing-In Ceremonies
Newly elected officials were sworn in by Magistrate Judge Kevin Stoltz. The following individuals assumed their seats on the Borough Council:
- Mayor: John Harlow
- Council Members: Sarah Hunter and Bridgette Gill
The ceremony included the singing of the National Anthem, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Harlow, and an invocation by Pastor Randy Zitterbart of the Hillside Community Church.

Key Decisions & Actions
Election of Vice President
A vote was held to elect the Vice President of Council. William Wiser and Sarah Hunter were nominated. The vote resulted in a tie, which was broken by Mayor Harlow via a coin flip.
- Result: Sarah Hunter was elected Vice President.
Meeting Schedule
The Council unanimously approved a motion to keep regular meetings unchanged.

Official Newspaper Designation
The Council unanimously approved The Daily Herald and the Altoona Mirror as the newspapers of general circulation for official Borough notices.
