Bacterial Violation Notice (July 2013)

A separate notice included in the report details a violation regarding coliform bacteria.

  • Incident: Tests showed coliform bacteria in drinking water during July 2013.
  • Details: Out of 5 samples taken, 2 showed the presence of total coliform bacteria. The standard allows no more than one sample per month to do so.
  • Cause: The sample point outside the hydrant was dirty when sampled.
  • Resolution: The authority sampled again from the same location along with 2 more close to the problem location. All subsequent samples came back "O. K. " (clean). No fecal coliform or E. Coli were found in follow-up testing.
  • Action Required: Residents did not need to boil their water, but were advised to consult a doctor if they had specific health concerns.
